Job Overview


The Structural Analysis Engineer will be responsible for revising, consolidating, and evaluating engineering analytical definitions of structural elements and assemblies derived from the prototype development phase.

Key responsibilities encompass the formulation of standardized analytical criteria and templates, contributing significantly to the workflow release process for all structural designs, assisting in the examination of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure adherence to design and load specifications, and devising structural testing protocols for manufacturing validation.

Moreover, this role includes supervising and coordinating the efforts of fellow Structural Analysis Engineers, managing Pre-and-Post flight structural Non-Recurring Issues (NRIs) for Fuselage Structures, addressing inspection inquiries and requests, defining primary structure inspections for flight testing and Entry Into Service (EIS), and compiling and implementing tools, methodologies, and procedures collaboratively with the team.

  • Reviews, updates, and consolidates engineering analytical definitions of structural components and assemblies from the prototype development phase.
  • Develops standardized analytical criteria and templates.
  • Plays a vital role in the workflow release process for all structural designs.
  • Assists in the review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design and load specifications.
  • Aids in the creation of structural testing protocols for manufacturing validation.
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of other Structural Analysis Engineers and acts as a Commodity Stress Focal.
  • Manages Pre-and-Post flight structural NRIs for Fuselage Structures and reviews the work of team members on assigned NRIs.
  • Addresses inspection inquiries, requests, and new inspections.
  • Defines primary structure inspections as necessary for flight testing and EIS.
  • Compiles and implements tools, methodologies, and procedures learned and applies them with the team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the analysis of structural systems utilizing strength of materials and finite element methods.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a strong understanding of composite analysis, manufacturing, and sizing of composite structures.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a strong grasp of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models, including pre and post-processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Structural Tests with knowledge and practical experience in FEM/Strain gauge data correlation.
  • Familiarity with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with composite part fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in FEMAP is advantageous.
  • Experience in piloting, aircraft homebuilding, and rapid prototyping is a significant plus.
  • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to specific requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military, or NASA is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is a plus.
