Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Resource Management Office. The work schedule will be established based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute accounting functions utilizing double-entry accrual accounting techniques.
- Aid in the verification and monitoring of daily activity submissions of financial documents to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to approval within the designated financial system.

- Serve as the Accounting Liaison, responsible for validating accounting strings and ensuring the precision of figures recorded by various departments before forwarding to the Shared Service Center.

- Confirm that disbursement requests submitted manually by departments are accurate and that all necessary documentation is provided promptly.

- Investigate and implement corrections to financial statements by submitting necessary forms within the system.

- Collect, organize, and maintain hard copies of daily financial paperwork.

- Address inquiries for both the Shared Service Center and the Accounting Office, submitting requests as needed to reconcile or resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely responses to avoid escalation.

- Provide proof of receipt and other requested documents to facilitate vendor payments and ensure compliance with payment requirements.

- Reconcile subsidiary records to general ledger control accounts on a monthly basis.

- Conduct training sessions on Point of Sale (POS) systems.

- Process monthly transactions including utility payments, travel reimbursements, and other necessary entries to the general ledger.

- Manage petty cash disbursements and replenishments, and assist with the submission of relevant forms.

- Keep management informed of any inappropriate transactions, delays in paperwork submission, and missing documents by maintaining an error log.

This position holds a significant level of trust.


Qualifications:
- Open to all applicants. Candidates will be evaluated based on preferences and eligibility criteria.

- Applicants must demonstrate at least two years of experience in accounting, with a thorough understanding of fund accounting methods and procedures.

- Proficiency in interpreting financial reports and familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines is essential.

- Competence in operating computers and utilizing Microsoft Office applications is required, along with the ability to prepare reports.

- Alternatively, candidates may qualify with at least nine accredited semester hours in accounting or finance.

- Applicants must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements.

- U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals residing in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years are eligible.

- Male applicants born after a specified date must be registered for Selective Service.

- Direct deposit is mandatory, and successful completion of an employment verification check is required.

- This is a Nonappropriated Fund position supporting Morale, Welfare, and Recreation activities.
