Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a crucial and strategic role at Northwest Center, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborating closely with the Board of Directors. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Communication:

  • Forge strong relationships with division leaders, front-line staff, the Executive team, the Board, and essential external stakeholders, including donors and corporate advisors.
  • Provide guidance in navigating complex strategic transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances.

Team Management & Development:

  • Directly supervise the Controller and oversee the accounting and finance teams.
  • Develop an organizational and staffing strategy to support ongoing growth across various business segments.
  • Attract, nurture, and retain talent to create a robust financial infrastructure.

Financial Strategy & Operations:

  • Manage both short and long-term capital structures to finance the organization's strategy and sustain growth.
  • Oversee cash management and liquidity concerning working capital needs.
  • Ensure excellence in financial systems and reporting.
  • Translate long-term strategies into actionable and measurable objectives.
  • Engage in strategic planning and financial forecasting.

Risk & Compliance Management:

  • Identify and mitigate business risks, integrating risk management processes into operational management.
  • Oversee legal documents, contracts, and real estate negotiations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required); Advanced Degree preferred
  • CPA or equivalent; CMA preferred

Experience:

  • 15 – 20 years of experience in Accounting with increasing management responsibilities, including prior experience as a CFO

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills suitable for interaction with the Board, Executive Team, and staff.
  • Experience in diverse business environments and continuous improvement processes.
  • Proven ability to build cohesive and productive teams.
  • Strong leadership in financial administration with expertise in accounting systems, audits, budgeting, and GAAP accounting.
  • Capability to operate at both detailed and strategic levels.
