Position Overview
This role entails serving as the deputy to the chief of the Navigation Division, with a focus on overseeing and coordinating the scheduling of dredging operations across various districts. The incumbent will actively participate in the West Coast Hopper Dredge Planning committee.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Budget and Schedule Management**: Lead the development of comprehensive budgets and schedules, ensuring effective prioritization and execution of floating plant operations.
2. **Field Compliance Oversight**: Conduct regular inspections of field activities to ensure adherence to dredging directives and operational plans.
3. **Innovative Management Practices**: Direct studies and procure advanced methods and equipment to enhance the management of floating plants.
4. **Repair and Maintenance Supervision**: Oversee the operations of repair facilities and boatyards responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment.
5. **Engineering Leadership**: Supervise the engineering aspects of floating plant operations, including planning, design, cost estimation, and contract management for significant repairs and enhancements.
6. **Personnel Administration**: Manage personnel functions through subordinate supervisors, including work assignment and participation in selection committees for promotions.
7. **Dredging Maintenance Program Development**: Assist in formulating plans for the maintenance of dredging operations.

Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet specific employment authority categories and demonstrate relevant experience. This includes:
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience in dredging operations and navigation facility maintenance.
- Proven ability to manage budget allocations and direct subordinate staff in developing management plans for navigation projects.
