Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at LYNC TRANSPORTATION SERVICES LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fleet, drivers, and transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driver Supervision and Training: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of drivers, ensuring they are trained and equipped to provide safe and reliable transportation services.
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Develop and maintain efficient transportation routes and schedules to minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and maximize safety and on-time performance.
  • Fleet Maintenance and Safety Compliance: Implement a rigorous maintenance schedule for fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and in optimal working condition, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Develop comprehensive emergency response plans for various scenarios, including accidents, inclement weather, and other emergencies, and conduct regular drills and training sessions to prepare drivers and staff.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open and effective communication channels with parents, school administrators, and transportation team members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring: Analyze transportation-related data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve performance, and use data-driven insights to enhance route efficiency, on-time performance, and overall service quality.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Foster and promote a strong safety culture within the transportation team, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions to reinforce safety protocols and encourage drivers and staff to prioritize safety at all times.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and motivate a team of drivers and support staff, and ability to foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards relevant to school transportation, and proficiency in ensuring compliance with traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Expertise in developing and optimizing transportation routes and schedules to maximize efficiency while prioritizing passenger safety and on-time arrivals.
  • Fleet Maintenance and Safety Management: Thorough understanding of vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to ensure vehicles are in excellent operational condition.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for fostering open and transparent communication with parents, school administrators, and transportation team members.
  • Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring: Proficiency in analyzing transportation-related data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and enhance transportation performance.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A commitment to providing exceptional customer service to parents, students, and school staff by addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional driving experience and 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Possession of a proper class license valid to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
