Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Operations Specialist to join our team at Continent 8. As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers and coordinating the efficient flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues, installing, moving, cabling, and configuring servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the efficient flow of goods and materials throughout the supply chain, including coordinating shipments with carriers, tracking shipments, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Operational Management: Perform periodic tasks such as inventory checks, power consumption readings, and shipment tracking, and maintain accurate documentation and records related to logistics and transportation.
- Customer and Internal Support: Liaise with network engineers, system administrators, and project managers on various projects, and process internal customer orders to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Compile with all legal obligations and company policies, and assure quality of received hardware products and coordinate with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate and liaise with all IT staff, senior management, product teams, and third-party business partners or vendors, and maintain accurate documentation and records related to logistics and transportation.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in logistics coordination or a similar role, and experience as a Data Center Technician.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of LAN/WAN/Telephony concepts, server, storage & networking hardware, and Data Centre critical infrastructure (UPS/Generators/HVAC).
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office, UNIX, and Cisco Systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with teams and stakeholders in multiple locations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights and lift server & network hardware regularly.
