Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Retail Operations Manager:
  • Encourage a culture of sales excellence by focusing on achieving performance metrics, including revenue growth and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee and assess team interactions to ensure that established objectives are met through effective selling and cross-selling strategies.
  • Collaborate with the retail manager to set performance standards, evaluate outcomes, and provide coaching for enhancement.
  • Manage daily store operations alongside the retail manager, including service delivery, team management, facility upkeep, inventory control, and administrative tasks such as scheduling and recruitment.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and shared values, participating in special projects and representing the retail location in company-wide initiatives.
  • Work with various business units (Travel, Automotive, Insurance, Quality, etc.) to ensure a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints. Assist retail staff in addressing customer needs and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Prepare and present reports as necessary, utilizing analytics to monitor and enhance performance, and develop strategies for operational efficiency and team effectiveness.
  • Build external partnerships that drive business to retail locations and enhance the AAA brand image within the community. Collaborate with Travel Services and/or Distribution Marketing to coordinate promotional activities.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three to four years of business experience, including one to two years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, as well as other internet-based applications.
  • Must obtain Notary Public designation within six months of employment.
  • Membership and Travel Insurance License must be acquired within six months of job acceptance. Attainment of the Certified Travel Agent (CTA) designation is required within two years, and the Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) designation is preferred within five years.
  • Familiarity with Department of Motor Vehicle regulations is advantageous for the state of the retail location.
  • Must meet state requirements for Tag and Title processing where applicable.
  • Background Check: Successful completion of pre-employment and ongoing screenings, including criminal, drug, and state-specific checks, is required.
For employees in Pennsylvania:
  • Must complete the On-Line Messenger (OLM) Certification testing within 90 days of system authorization.
  • Completion of the Basic Agent Services Training course is required within one year of hire.
  • Must complete the Advance Agent Services Training course every two years.
