Position Responsibilities: Systems Engineer - Managed Services

A Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in addressing client inquiries, resolving technical challenges, and managing escalated issues. Key responsibilities include:
  • Resolving a minimum of 7 client-facing tickets daily, focusing on complex issues.
  • Maintaining a billable rate of 85% or higher.
  • Efficiently closing escalated helpdesk tickets.
  • Providing mentorship to helpdesk technicians on advanced tickets.
  • Handling onsite requests related to various technical issues, including:
    • System outages
    • Printer malfunctions
    • Network disruptions
    • Performance and bandwidth concerns
    • Workstation and server failures
  • Adhering to troubleshooting best practices and escalation protocols.
  • Exhibiting a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Documenting time and work accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Staying informed about current technology trends.
  • Overseeing multiple clients to ensure optimal maintenance of their environments.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Helpdesk Technician role, with a focus on escalations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Network & Server Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Windows 10
    • Windows Server OS
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policy
    • Microsoft Suite
    • Microsoft 365
    • Wireless technologies
    • TCP/IP
    • Routers and Firewalls
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise, Auvik, Slack, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+, CCNA, CCENT.
  • A desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
Knowledge Requirements:
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft operating systems, TCP/IP, networking hardware, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with network security, WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure, and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery concepts.
