Job Title: Full-Time Faculty in Engineering
The Department of Science and Mathematics at Simpson University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty member in the field of Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of undergraduate courses in engineering, with a focus on electrical and computer engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 12 units of undergraduate coursework each semester, encompassing both lecture and hands-on project-based learning.
- Design and instruct courses in areas such as computer programming, linear circuits, digital electronics, logic design, signals and systems, and control systems.
- Guide and mentor students pursuing degrees in engineering.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment processes for the engineering program.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
- Engage in faculty committees and support student recruitment efforts.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related field, with specialization in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or control systems.
- Exceptional ABD candidates may be considered with appropriate documentation from their dissertation chair.
- Proven ability to teach effectively using diverse instructional methods.
- Experience in engaging with a diverse student body.
- A research agenda that enhances undergraduate education is preferred.
