The Department of Science and Mathematics at Simpson University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in Engineering. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering instruction in both introductory and advanced engineering courses, with a focus on electrical and computer engineering disciplines. Qualifications Required:

  • Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related discipline, particularly in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or control systems.
  • Exceptional candidates who are ABD may be considered, provided they submit a letter from their dissertation chair confirming that all requirements, except for the dissertation defense, have been met. Candidates must present proof of the Ph.D. upon appointment.
  • Proven capability to instruct both theoretical and hands-on coursework.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence through diverse instructional methods.
  • Experience engaging with a varied student demographic.
  • A promising research agenda that enhances undergraduate education is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a total of 12 units of undergraduate courses each semester.
  • Design and deliver undergraduate lectures and lab/project-based engineering courses, including but not limited to programming, circuit analysis, digital systems, logic design, signal processing, and control systems.
  • Advise and mentor students pursuing an engineering degree.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and student recruitment efforts.
  • Participate in faculty committees and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure timely completion of assessments, grading, and reporting duties.
