Simpson University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a full-time faculty position in the Department of Science and Mathematics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in engineering, advising students, and contributing to the development of the engineering program.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching: Teach 12 units of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester, including lecture and lab/project-based engineering courses.
- Advising: Advise and mentor undergraduate students in the engineering major.
- Department Support: Provide support for curriculum design, assessment for degree program, and student recruitment.
- Service: Serve on faculty committees and attend department meetings and professional development activities.
- Education: PhD in engineering or a related field, with an emphasis in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or control systems.
- Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach both lecture and project-based coursework, with evidence of teaching excellence utilizing a variety of teaching modalities.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Teaching: Ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports.
- Advising: Provide guidance and support to students in the engineering major.
- Department Support: Contribute to the development of the engineering program, including curriculum design and assessment.
The successful candidate will work in a controlled environment, with typical working conditions including sitting for long periods of time using a computer.
