PUB STAFF POSITION

REPORTS TO: MANAGER

FLSA CLASS: Hourly Non-Exempt

The responsibilities outlined below are intended to convey the general nature and level of work performed by individuals in this job classification. Position Overview:

Every Pub Staff member is expected to manage a variety of tasks from opening to closing in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: engaging in all aspects of kitchen operations and front-of-house service, which encompasses food preparation, cooking, serving meals, pouring and serving beverages, attending to and clearing tables, operating a cash register or point of sale system, restocking supplies, verifying patrons' identification for alcohol purchases, dishwashing, maintaining cleanliness of the pub, and most importantly, fostering excellent customer relations with all guests. The Pub Staff role can be physically demanding and requires mental agility and the ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Staff must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Each employee is expected to perform their duties safely and report any safety concerns to management. All McMenamins employees are also required to stay informed about company events, history, and products. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Manager on duty.

Job Requirements:
  • Maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license
  • Ability to accurately manage cash and work with numerical data
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service
  • Safely lift and transport heavy items using a hand truck or assistance when necessary
  • Value diversity and work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds
  • Maintain composure and focus in a high-volume, deadline-oriented work setting
  • Stand for extended periods, including frequent walking, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping
  • Execute fine motor skills including handling small and large items, typing, writing, and using kitchen equipment
  • Communicate clearly and maintain a positive, polite, and cooperative demeanor with coworkers, managers, vendors, and customers
  • Work in and around a hot kitchen and various heat sources
  • Handle cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
  • Assist as a host when required
  • Complete additional side tasks as directed by the manager on duty
