Job Title: Director of Finance and Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join our team at Stanford University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and management to the Earth and Planetary Sciences department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to ensure effective financial management and resource allocation.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Manage personnel administration, including recruitment, hiring, and training of departmental staff.
  • Provide research administration support, including proposal development and submittal, and post-award processing and awards management.
  • Supervise student services, including admissions, financial aid, and coordination of teaching programs.
  • Manage facilities and property, including space planning and allocation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, and coordination of faculty and staff moves.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong financial expertise, including accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Ability to work well with all Stanford colleagues, including faculty, staff, and students.
