Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Administration to join our team at Stanford University. As a key member of the Department of Neurology, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in finance, administration, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to support the department's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the department's budget and financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direction for all financial and administrative functions, including human resources, grant and contract administration, and facilities management.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Represent the department in interactions with hospital and university administrators, and negotiate with external partners and vendors.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field, such as business administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including financial and budget preparation, and three years of supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and implement complex financial and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing NIH and NIS portfolios.
  • Experience with Pre-Award and Post Award management.
  • Experience fostering/building relationships across the School of Medicine as well as promoting the mission and initiative for Precision Health.
  • Experience administering or managing operations and finance (faculty compensation and time allocation).
