Position Overview:
The primary role of the Intake Specialist is to oversee the intake processes within the court system, ensuring compliance with legal standards and operational guidelines. This position is essential in facilitating the initial stages of legal proceedings and maintaining accurate records.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a High School diploma or GED, with preferred coursework in business, public administration, criminal justice, law, or related fields. A minimum of two years of experience in legal or court-related roles is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.

Licenses and Certifications:
Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be affirmed as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This role demands a solid understanding of legal terminology and court procedures. Candidates should be proficient in general office practices and technology, including spreadsheet and database management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential. Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with colleagues, legal professionals, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Process legal matters to ensure adherence to laws and established court protocols.
2. Maintain accurate logs of intakes and releases as mandated by law.
3. Verify identification and custody for each intake.
4. Respond to inquiries from attorneys and the public regarding court schedules and procedures.
5. Review court calendars for accuracy.

Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Work Environment:
This position is typically performed in an office setting, with potential exposure to high-conflict situations. Physical demands include talking, hearing, seeing, and the ability to lift and carry light objects.
