About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at The US Oncology Network. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested, including administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
- Obtain all necessary patient records and vitals as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
- Perform other administrative duties, such as data entry, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RNs, triage patient phone calls.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed; maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
