About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our orthopedic providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication between patients and providers during patient care
  • Prepare patients for visits with providers, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, and reviewing intake paperwork
  • Complete tasks associated with company initiatives, such as PROs and Quality Payment Programs
  • Maintain exam room standards, including restocking and cleaning
  • Assist providers in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR
  • Prepare electronic patient charts for clinic visits after the date of service
  • Verify outstanding testing results and confirm patient appropriateness for providers
  • Scan clinical documents into EMR and print clinic schedules
  • Ensure patients receive education as indicated by providers
  • Manage EMR desktops of assigned providers in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Active Medical Assistant certification, such as RMA, CMA, or CCMA
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments, as well as knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software
  • High school diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Two years of experience in an outpatient physical therapy clinic, preferably with orthopedics
