Job Summary

The Medical Assistant role at Adelante Healthcare is a vital position that requires a unique blend of clinical and administrative skills. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

With a strong focus on patient-centered care, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, preparing patients for exams, and performing various administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by reviewing medical histories, updating patient records, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain reason for visit, chief complaint, and document in electronic medical record.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain patient confidentiality following all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Document accurately all patient information in electronic health record.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with patients and other members of the care team.
  • Assist with medication administration, immunization procedures, and other clinical tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Graduation from an approved medical assistant training program with one or more years of experience.
  • Certification to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross.
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a medical assistant role.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and medical terminology.
