Position Summary: This role involves providing support to the United States Coast Guard as a Project Management Consultant III, focusing on the Business and Logistics Management Support Services division. The consultant will oversee all contractor activities conducted under this Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). Key responsibilities include developing a project management training program that aligns with Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) standards, facilitating relevant classroom instruction, and offering mentorship. The consultant will also drive enhancements in business process re-engineering and ensure effective planning, management, and execution of strategic initiatives and projects.

Job Type: Full-time/Exempt

Work Hours:

  • Standard 8-hour workday within the hours of 0800 and 1700 EST, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design a project management curriculum that meets FAC-P/PM standards.
  • Deliver project management training to facilitate FAC-P/PM certification.
  • Provide mentorship to project and program managers.
  • Guide improvements in business process re-engineering.
  • Support effective planning, management, and execution of strategic programs and projects.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of technical data.
  • Interpret and apply acquisition policies, regulations, and directives.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Business Management, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Successful completion of ITIL Foundations training.
  • At least eight (8) years of experience managing projects, particularly in business process re-engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret government policies, regulations, and directives.
  • Ensure compliance with government policies, regulations, and directives in all activities outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the United States Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security on IT projects.
  • Prior experience as an Information Technology project manager or project lead overseeing team, budget, and scheduling aspects.
