BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • CLINICAL INTERVENTION:
    • Facilitate group therapy sessions and conduct patient intake evaluations.
    • Assist in the development and assessment of treatment plans.
    • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
    • Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
    • Deliver primarily independent therapy sessions for patients with Substance Use Disorders.
    • Exhibit proficiency in individual counseling techniques.
    • Occasionally conduct individual counseling sessions as appropriate.
  • TEAM COLLABORATION:
    • Coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team on-site.
    • Participate in required meetings, including staff meetings, supervision, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
    • Effectively manage a caseload of patients.
  • DOCUMENTATION AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:
    • Accurately document all treatment data in the electronic health record system.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
  • Provide training and onboarding support for new Counselor I hires.
  • Offer mentorship and training for new counselors within the organization.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to support patients in their recovery.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of colleagues and patients.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills to address patient needs promptly.
  • Collaborative team player in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • Technologically proficient, with familiarity in various communication and documentation systems, including MS Office.
  • Commitment to compliance and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with harm reduction strategies is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as Counselor I or in a related role.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • EDUCATION:
  • Required: A Master's Degree consistent with state regulations.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in a related field.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • REQUIRED:
  • Active clinical licensure in accordance with state regulations.
  • Preferred Licenses: LSW, LPC, MFT, LPCC, LICDC, LISW, LMFT.
