Position Overview

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery is actively seeking a dedicated Day Treatment Addiction Counselor to join our team at the Cuyahoga County Wellness Center.

Role Summary:

The Day Treatment Addiction Counselor plays a vital role in providing comprehensive support to individuals facing addiction challenges. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting screenings, assessments, treatment planning, educational sessions, referrals, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical services such as individual, group, and family counseling, along with intensive outpatient services.
  • Conduct assessments to identify clients' strengths and weaknesses, and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Facilitate a 5-day per week Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for clients.
  • Coordinate with staff and representatives from Residential and Recovery Housing programs to ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage a caseload, orient clients to the program, and participate in clinical reviews and discharge planning.
  • Engage families in the treatment process and deliver assigned program components.
  • Maintain regular contact with referral sources and ensure compliance with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) standards.
  • Participate in Utilization Review and Peer Review programs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

  • Adherence to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board's Code of Ethics.
  • Understanding of addiction as a chronic illness, supported by three years of treatment or recovery experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Positions in Public Health may require specific health vaccinations.

Educational Background:

  • Associate Degree or significant progress towards an Associate Degree in Addictions Treatment and Prevention or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred.

Certification:

  • Required credentials include LCDCII, LPC, LSW, or higher. CDCA credential with eligibility for upgrade within six months may be considered based on experience.

Work Environment:

  • Minimal travel required, primarily local.
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with licensure and experience.
