Position Overview

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery is seeking a dedicated Day Treatment Addiction Counselor to join our team at the Cuyahoga County Wellness Center.

Role Summary:

The Day Treatment Addiction Counselor plays a crucial role in providing essential support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, education, referral, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical services such as individual, group, and family counseling, as well as intensive outpatient services.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans that address clients' strengths and challenges.
  • Coordinate with staff and representatives from Residential and Recovery Housing programs to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain oversight of assigned cases, including client orientation, clinical reviews, and discharge planning.
  • Engage families in the treatment process and provide program components as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to utilization and peer review programs.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

Candidates must adhere to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board's Code of Ethics, possess a solid understanding of addiction as a disease, and have a minimum of three years of treatment or recovery experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer applications.

Educational Background:

An Associate Degree or significant progress towards an Associate Degree in Addictions Treatment and Prevention or a related field is required. A Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred.

Certification:

Applicants must hold an LCDCII, LPC, LSW, or a higher credential. A CDCA credential with eligibility for licensure upgrade within six months may be considered based on experience.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours. Minimal travel is expected, primarily local.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with licensure and experience.
