Mechanical Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:
  • Oversee weekly maintenance schedules and assist the General Foreman in the organization of tasks and workforce.
  • Deliver daily resource updates to clients.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure the workforce is promptly mobilizing to work locations.
  • Perform safety assessments and analyze Time on Tools metrics.
  • Ensure that General Foremen and Foremen are executing required safety evaluations, Time on Tools tracking, and planner feedback through digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with Unit Coordinators to assess the performance of the Austin workforce.
  • Regularly inspect field operations to evaluate craft effectiveness.
  • Participate in daily scheduling discussions.
  • Engage in weekly planning meetings.
  • Be a prominent and proactive leader in safety meetings held weekly and monthly.
  • Ensure optimal use of equipment and machinery.
  • Verify compliance with Austin's safety protocols.
  • Evaluate the quality of work performed by craftsmen.
  • Identify the skills of field craftsmen and recommend training to enhance or maintain performance.
  • Support the General Foreman in addressing employee conduct issues.
  • Ensure the right skill sets are assigned to craftsmen for effective task execution.
  • Monitor employee attendance and punctuality.
  • Actively participate in investigations related to safety and quality incidents.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Serve as the Site Manager in their absence.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a supervisory maintenance role or as a general foreman.
  • Experience in a refinery setting with a solid mechanical foundation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with client representatives.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Excel, reporting tools, and mobile devices.
  • High safety awareness and the ability to uphold Austin's and client safety standards.
  • Ability to drive positive change within the team.
  • Persistence in following through with company policies and directives.
  • Expertise in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Skilled in fostering trust and team morale.
  • Adept at identifying and implementing strategies to boost productivity and efficiency.
