Engineering Process Analyst

Role Summary:
As a Process Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and product quality. You will be responsible for establishing standardized methodologies that translate engineering requirements into actionable product design initiatives. Your expertise will bridge the gap between product development and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring that material performance and selection criteria are well-documented and adhered to throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address production challenges related to materials and processes, ensuring comprehensive understanding of root causes and implementing effective, cost-efficient solutions.
- Provide hands-on training to team members regarding material usage and manufacturing processes.
- Engage actively in production meetings to foster collaboration and communication.
- Be accessible to operators for guidance and support.
- Work closely with factory personnel to streamline operations.
- Alert the Materials Management Team about potential material obsolescence or supply chain disruptions.
- Act as an operations liaison with Materials & Process Engineering to resolve issues with obsolete materials, identifying affected users and sourcing alternatives.
- Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to enhance processes, reduce variability, and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Promote the use of standardized materials in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Document and author manufacturing procedures to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Support troubleshooting efforts to resolve manufacturing process challenges efficiently, coordinating with relevant labs for root cause analysis as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is essential, and U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in material testing, manufacturing processes, and lean manufacturing methodologies is highly desirable. Proficiency in technical writing and possession of an active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance will be advantageous.
