Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Tucson, AZ

Contract Duration: 12+ months

Compensation: $30 - $42/hr. on W2

Job Overview:

The primary role of a manufacturing engineer is to utilize engineering principles and theories to address challenges related to industrial layout and production processes. A typical manufacturing engineer possesses the skills to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze time, motion, methods, and speeds involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and enhance efficiency.
  • Examine worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification documents to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Assess and approve work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Utilize charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Evaluate data and reports to confirm or identify deviations from established standards.
  • Propose modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal quality within the limits of equipment capabilities.
  • Recommend revisions to operational methods, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to boost production or enhance standards.

Required Skills:

  • Strong creativity, verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and attention to detail.
  • Exhibits critical thinking skills and leverages innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities to provide support and constructive feedback.
  • Advanced skills in creating sketches, engineering drawings, and performing common computations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience is necessary.
