Position Overview:
This role is essential for overseeing the daily functions of a grain facility, including operations, staffing, maintenance, safety, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the facility through timely maintenance of equipment and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Select, train, and assess the performance of grain team members.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including conducting safety meetings, training sessions, and investigations into incidents.
  • Assist in setting annual objectives and develop operating expense and capital budgets, monitoring them throughout the year.
  • Manage grain flow to optimize drying and mixing processes, ensuring effective communication of daily inventory updates with leadership.
  • Implement procedures to guarantee that grain quality meets or exceeds industry standards through appropriate binning, drying, and aeration.
  • Track and analyze losses and gains of grain shrinkage resulting from drying, aeration, and mechanical movement, maximizing blending to mitigate financial impacts.
  • For Food Grade Facilities: Maintain knowledge of food safety policies, actively participate in related meetings, and ensure all employees are aware of food safety concerns.

Expectations:
Individuals in this position will coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the team, set priorities to ensure task completion, and collaborate with other supervisors. Decisions will be guided by established policies and procedures, with oversight from management. Typically, less than 20% of time will be spent performing the work supervised.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree preferred or required, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
