Job Summary

The Fresh Market Lead Artisan will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fresh Market department, ensuring quality control and optimal team performance. This role will report to the Retail Manager and will be a key member of the Eataly North America team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and motivate the team to increase sales and efficiency.
  • Stock Control: Maintain stock levels and make key decisions about stock control, placing orders as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate with the main production kitchen and restaurants to ensure that all orders are fulfilled.
  • Production Schedule: Manage production schedule to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure department consistently meets quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Technical Issues: Communicate any technical or mechanical issues to the appropriate department.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and take actions to improve efficiency and profitability of the department.
  • Customer Service: Assist guests with cheese selection and share knowledge of products.
  • Product Preparation: Weigh, label, and package products and complete food preparation in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of retail supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Italian cheeses and salumi.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Financial Analysis: Financial analysis skills.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Additional Requirements: 1+ year of food production experience highly preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Availability: Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
Compensation and Benefits

This position pays a base rate of $22-$26 per hour.
