The Capital Projects Engineer is responsible for generating detailed technical documentation necessary for the procurement, fabrication, and installation of materials and equipment. This role involves planning and scheduling project execution, ordering materials from approved suppliers, monitoring timelines and costs, managing construction contractors, and delivering project updates to management. All projects must adhere to established safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A solid technical engineering background
  • Proficient computer skills
  • The ability to collaborate with large teams while managing multiple projects
  • Strong coordination skills among all stakeholders involved in project planning and execution

This position will also provide support for significant inspection and repair projects as needed throughout the year.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred)
  • A minimum of 5 years of project engineering experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project
