Field Construction Inspector

Location: Des Moines, IA / Sector: Infrastructure Solutions / Employment Type: Full Time Non-Exempt

Foth Infrastructure and Environment, LLC is experiencing significant growth in our Des Moines office. We are in search of a collaborative and results-driven Field Construction Inspector who is eager to play a vital role in the delivery of municipal and state transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct oversight and inspection services for municipal and state transportation initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate contracted services, including surveying and material evaluation.
  • Document and ensure compliance with project specifications (e.g., daily logs, quantities, submittals).
  • Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and property owners regarding project scope, timelines, and related issues.
  • Coordinate roadway design project plans with relevant utility companies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction observation or a comparable combination of formal education and relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in municipal construction (e.g., storm/sanitary sewer, watermain, paving, grading).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Completion of Iowa DOT certifications (PCC1, PCC2, Aggregate Tech, HMA Sampler).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
