About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Construction Inspector to join our team at Snyder & Associates. As a key member of our structural engineering firm, you will be responsible for the inspection and construction oversight of bridges and vertical structures primarily located in Iowa and surrounding states.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of bridges and vertical structures to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and civil engineers to analyze and conceptualize projects involving bridges and vertical structures.
  • Develop and implement construction plans and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Review and analyze shop drawings, interact effectively with construction staff, engineers, and project managers.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams to ensure high-quality work products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure client-focused results and superior quality work products.
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of experience in design and construction oversight of bridges and/or vertical structures, with a preference for bridges.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structures emphasis or Construction Engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in inspection and construction, preferably involving bridge construction and renovation as well as vertical structures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and similar design software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Leadership/project management skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep projects on scope, on budget, and on time.
  • Ability to integrate individual efforts into a team approach.
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge and concepts through practical application in project assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
