Position Overview:

The Senior Construction Project Leader is tasked with overseeing cost assessments and general operational management of a variety of commercial and industrial electrical construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project construction timelines.
  • Prepare and submit Requests for Information to clients.
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project team members.
  • Organize meetings, provide schedule updates, deliver required documents, and address any outstanding issues as requested by clients.
  • Generate look-ahead documents along with weekly and monthly progress reports and billing details.
  • Monitor job costs in relation to budgets.
  • Provide regular updates to the management team.
  • Compile comprehensive cost estimates (labor and materials) for commercial and industrial projects within established deadlines.
  • Conduct field evaluations for estimate preparation.
  • Engage in the estimate review process with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare material lists and other relevant information for procurement.
  • Schedule and participate in site assessments with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to ascertain constructability requirements.
  • Review various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders.
  • Work closely with project management teams.
  • Support construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform essential functions in designated office or field locations.
  • Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other relevant professional and ethical standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management and estimating within the electrical sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with specifications, proposals, and documentation necessary for preparing time, cost, and labor estimates for projects and services.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and pertinent local regulations.
  • Ability to interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications, including blueprints and proposals as they relate to electrical work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experienced with estimating software such as Accubid or similar tools.
  • Capable of creating construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A collaborative team player who can effectively engage with diverse internal and external partners.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to focus on tasks for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
