Position Overview:
The Senior Construction Project Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial assessments and operational management of diverse commercial and industrial electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules.
- Facilitate communication by submitting inquiries to clients.
- Oversee daily project operations and activities.
- Serve as the primary contact for project team members.
- Organize meetings, provide schedule updates, and manage deliverables while addressing any outstanding issues as required by clients.
- Prepare forward-looking documents along with weekly and monthly progress reports and billing details.
- Monitor and evaluate job costs against budgetary constraints.
- Regularly report project status to the management team.
- Create comprehensive cost estimates for labor and materials for commercial and industrial projects within specified timelines.
- Conduct field evaluations for accurate estimate preparation.
- Engage in the estimate review process with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile bills of materials and related information for procurement purposes.
- Schedule and conduct site assessments with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to ascertain project requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across various project documents.
- Assist in preparing and submitting change orders.
- Work closely with project management to ensure seamless operations.
- Support construction teams throughout the project lifecycle in understanding the basis of cost estimates.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform essential functions in designated office or field locations.
- Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, along with relevant industry-specific professional standards.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and estimating within the electrical sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in interpreting specifications, proposals, and documentation for time/cost/labor estimates.
- Familiar with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and applicable local regulations.
- Ability to read and comprehend civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans, including blueprints and proposals related to electrical work.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software such as Accubid or similar tools.
- Capable of preparing construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative team player who can effectively engage with diverse internal and external partners.
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
