As an Electrical Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible for the development, documentation, and support of non-flight Electrical Special Test Equipment. This includes designing test cables, Electrical Racks, and various instrument and system-level test sets.

You will create cable interconnect diagrams, thermal vacuum plates, and manage interface control documents. Additionally, you will develop software and certification procedures for electrical test sets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop CAD models for electronic designs and generate detailed cable designs, schematics, and assembly drawings.
  • Create bill of material product structures and manage long lead procurements.
  • Specify connector pinouts and military-standard part numbers in interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Collaborate with production planners and assembly technicians to resolve fabrication issues.
  • Report on task status and identify solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Network with colleagues to leverage expertise for problem-solving.
  • Establish and maintain reuse standards for common electrical test equipment.
  • Utilize heritage designs to optimize schedule and cost.
  • Review and derive requirements for the Electrical Special Test Equipment being designed.
  • Develop software to control test equipment and execute test procedures.
  • Support Space Vehicle Integration and Test (SV I&T) department in deploying test equipment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in managing design practices.
  • Contribute to project proposals and cost tracking.
  • Maintain a regular work schedule and foster effective working relationships.

Work Environment:

This role requires regular on-site engagement, working five days a week in the primary work location. Travel and local commutes may be necessary.


Working Conditions:

Work is conducted in various environments, including offices, laboratories, production floors, and cleanrooms. Occasional work in production centers may require protective equipment.


Required Qualifications:

A BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Each higher-level degree may substitute for two years of experience. Proficiency in CAD tools such as Draftsight, Solidworks, or AutoCAD is essential. Strong communication skills and hands-on design abilities are critical.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AGILE PDM tools, military specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is advantageous. Familiarity with spacecraft cable design and LabVIEW programming is a plus.


Compensation:

The full-time salary range for this position is $137,500. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including market conditions and candidate qualifications.
