As an Electrical Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible for the development, documentation, and support of non-flight Electrical Special Test Equipment, including test cables, Electrical Racks, and various instrument and system-level test sets.

Your role will involve creating cable interconnect diagrams, managing interface control documents, and developing software and certification procedures for electrical test sets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop CAD models for electronic systems, including cable designs, schematics, and assembly drawings.
  • Generate bill of material structures and manage long lead procurements.
  • Specify connector pinouts and military-standard part numbers in interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Collaborate with production planners and assembly technicians to address fabrication issues.
  • Provide status updates on tasks and learn to navigate obstacles effectively.
  • Engage with colleagues to leverage expertise for problem-solving.
  • Establish and maintain standards for common electrical test equipment.
  • Utilize heritage designs to optimize schedule and cost.
  • Develop software for test equipment control and execute test procedures.
  • Support Space Vehicle Integration and Test (SV I&T) efforts with test equipment deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in managing design practices.
  • Contribute to project proposals and track costs.
  • Maintain a consistent work schedule and foster positive working relationships within the department and across the company.

Work Environment:

This position requires regular on-site engagement, typically five days a week, with potential travel between company campuses and other locations.


Working Conditions:
Work may be performed in various settings, including offices, laboratories, production floors, or cleanrooms. Occasionally, you may need to use protective equipment in production environments and work in diverse weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Higher-level degrees may substitute for experience. Proficiency in CAD tools such as Draftsight, Solidworks, or AutoCAD is essential.

Excellent communication skills and hands-on design and troubleshooting abilities are critical. While a security clearance is not mandatory, candidates must be willing to undergo the clearance process if required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AGILE PDM tools, knowledge of military specifications, and skills in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) are advantageous. Familiarity with spacecraft cable and wire harness design, full lifecycle development, LabVIEW programming, and test scripting environments is also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
Full-Time Salary Range: $137,500
