KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare the banquet area as directed by the Supervisor, ensuring all linens, utensils, and glassware are properly arranged.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings to understand the specifics of the function, including guest expectations and service standards.
  • Welcome guests warmly and address their inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with the Supervisor's guidelines, maintaining consistency throughout the event. Efficiently clear dishes as guests finish each course and at the conclusion of the meal.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and corporate regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Restock beverages as needed and check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
  • After the event, reset the banquet area as per the Supervisor's instructions to prepare for the next function.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication skills in English. A proactive attitude with a calm demeanor is essential. Maintain a polished appearance and conduct oneself professionally at all times. Ability to engage positively with guests is crucial. Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment is required. Basic understanding of food and beverage service, guest relations, and etiquette is necessary. Familiarity with proper table settings and serviceware is expected. Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions for safe product usage within the establishment. Capability to remember and promote various menu offerings. Must be able to transport items weighing up to 30 lbs. through busy areas consistently throughout the shift. Proficiency in operating beverage equipment, such as coffee makers, is required.

To foster a positive experience for both guests and associates, your work habits should consistently meet and aim to exceed the hotel's standards regarding procedures, attire, grooming, punctuality, and attendance. Adaptability to changes in the work environment and hotel protocols is essential, along with a willingness to learn new skills or enhance existing ones. The ability to resolve routine issues that arise during work and to seek assistance when needed is important.

SAFETY AND SECURITY:

The safety and security of our guests and staff are of utmost importance. All associates must comply with hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key management, lifting protocols, chemical handling, and reporting safety hazards and concerns.
