Catering Server

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare the banquet area as directed by the Supervisor, ensuring all linens, cutlery, and glassware are in place.
• Participate in pre-event briefings to understand specific details of the function, including guest expectations and hotel standards.
• Welcome guests and address their needs in a polite and professional manner.
• Serve food and beverages according to the Supervisor's guidelines, maintaining consistency throughout the event. Efficiently clear dishes as guests finish each course or at the conclusion of the meal.
• Adhere to all local, state, and corporate regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
• Restock beverages as needed and check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
• After the event, reset the banquet area according to the Supervisor's instructions to prepare for subsequent functions.
• Maintain regular attendance and be available for scheduled shifts.
• Carry out any additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication skills in English. A proactive attitude with a calm demeanor is essential. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times. Ability to engage positively with guests is crucial. Willingness to assist colleagues and collaborate as a team is necessary. Basic understanding of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette is required. Familiarity with appropriate table settings and serviceware is important. Ability to comprehend and apply written instructions for safe product use within the hotel environment. Capability to remember and promote various menu items. Must be able to transport items weighing up to 30 lbs. through crowded areas consistently throughout the shift. Proficiency in operating beverage equipment, such as coffee makers, is needed.
