Job Summary:

The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in the financial operations of Care New England, facilitating all phases of the billing process under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Submit paper and electronic claims to all payers in a timely and accurate manner.

• Follow up on current, past due accounts and secondary balances with third-party payers, addressing denied or unpaid claims beyond the contracted timeframe.

• Assist the supervisor in reporting, analyzing, and trending of the accounts receivable, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.

• Serve as a billing liaison to patients, providers, and insurance carriers, ensuring seamless communication and efficient reimbursement processes.

Requirements:

• High school degree required; associate's degree preferred.

• Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment or accounts receivable, with a strong understanding of third-party payers, medical terminology, and computer applications.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and typing skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and exercise sound judgment in addressing accounts receivable matters.
