Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team at City Personnel, Inc. in Providence, RI. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services.
  • Ensure accurate coding and billing by thoroughly reviewing patient medical records.
  • Submit clean claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within the designated billing cycle.
  • Address and resolve billing discrepancies and denials with insurance providers.
  • Review and appeal unpaid or denied claims as needed.
  • Record payments and adjustments accurately on patient accounts.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals regarding billing and payment issues.
  • Stay informed about industry changes and updates to billing standards.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in medical terminology, as well as CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
  • Knowledgeable about insurance guidelines and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in using medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification as a Professional Biller (CPB) is preferred but not required.
