Position Overview:

The Arkansas Government Job is seeking a dedicated Client Eligibility Assessment Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in evaluating client qualifications for various assistance programs and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related discipline; plus one year of experience in assessing eligibility for social services and/or agency resources. Other relevant education and/or experience may be considered upon approval.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts comprehensive reviews of service referrals and interviews clients and their families to clarify eligibility criteria and community resources.
  • Requests necessary information to assess client eligibility or needs and submits requests for approval to the appropriate personnel in line with established protocols.
  • Provides guidance on available resources, assistance, and services to applicants, including home visits to evaluate client needs.
  • Organizes initial intake meetings with clients and/or family members to gather detailed information regarding psychiatric, psychological, medical history, financial status, and prior professional recommendations.
  • Analyzes requests and professional evaluations, initiating processes to grant, modify, deny, or terminate eligibility for assistance, along with recommendations for services.
  • Drafts individualized care plans and collaborates with both private and public service providers for support.
  • Interprets policies and ensures adherence to state and federal laws, regulations, and agency policies.
  • May act as a liaison to other divisions and agencies to develop policies and procedures for community-based programs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with federal and state laws, policies, and guidelines governing client eligibility for assistance programs.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in determining eligibility.
  • Capability to evaluate client information, assess needs, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Proficiency in preparing, presenting, and reviewing oral and written reports.
  • Strong interviewing skills and ability to provide technical assistance.
  • Competence in utilizing computer software for report generation and written communication.
