Job Summary

The University of Washington is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Business Analyst to join the School of Medicine's Shared Environment team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for the School's faculty, staff, and trainees.

You will serve as the subject matter expert for payroll processes, providing guidance on compliance with university, school, union, state, and federal policies, rules, and regulations. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing internal controls for payroll management, leading initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, and resolving pertinent issues and challenges with payroll processing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, project management, and process development, with a proven track record of exercising discretion and independent judgment effectively in decision-making processes. You will be able to interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures to others, and have a strong blend of technical/process design skills, leadership, group facilitation, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for the School's faculty, staff, and trainees

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field
  • 5 years demonstrated experience in project management and business analysis
  • Strong background in business analysis, project management, and process development
  • Proven track record of exercising discretion and independent judgment effectively in decision-making processes
  • Strong blend of technical/process design skills, leadership, group facilitation, and communication skills
