Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a company in the construction industry to find a temporary Senior Payroll Specialist for their team.
This contract role is expected to last around eight months, but could be extended based on the department's workload.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing weekly payroll and responding to employee inquiries.
They will be fully trained and work as part of a team, but must have a high level of attention to detail due to the complexity of union payroll.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in payroll processing and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute weekly payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in pay rates, deductions, and personal information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries related to pay, benefits, and deductions.
- Additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of payroll processing experience.
- Knowledge of union payroll is preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct oneself with a high level of discretion.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
Employment Details:
- Temporary contract for 8+ months.
- Fully onsite for training, with the opportunity to have a hybrid schedule after training.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay Details:
- $40.00 to $45.00 per hour.
