**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Assist the Grocery Department Manager** in overseeing daily operations, including receiving and stocking merchandise, maintaining store displays, and ensuring excellent customer service.
- **Supervise and train** Grocery associates to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- **Maintain a high level of product knowledge** to effectively assist customers with their shopping needs and provide recommendations on products.
- **Collaborate with the Grocery Department Manager** to develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance the overall shopping experience.
- **Ensure compliance** with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- **Perform other duties** as assigned by the Grocery Department Manager.
**Requirements:**
- **Previous supervisory experience** in a retail or grocery environment.
- **Excellent communication and interpersonal skills** to effectively interact with customers, associates, and management.
- **Strong problem-solving and analytical skills** to resolve customer complaints and improve store operations.
- **Ability to work in a fast-paced environment** and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- **Basic computer knowledge** and proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other retail software.
