Your responsibilities will encompass the establishment and execution of our software team's quality assurance (QA) methodologies. You will be tasked with designing, developing, and sustaining automated testing frameworks that empower our team to maintain a rapid pace while adhering to quality benchmarks. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability and efficiency of our weather safety solutions, significantly affecting the users who depend on our technology.

This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of testing strategies for web and mobile applications, as well as hardware utilizing custom firmware. The ideal candidate is an automation specialist, a proficient developer, and is willing to engage in manual testing when required. We seek an individual who is driven, resourceful, modest, and enthusiastic about contributing to our collaborative team of software engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement, and oversee the QA strategy and processes for the software development team.
  • Create and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for web and mobile applications, as well as hardware.
  • Perform manual testing as needed to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with account management to represent the customer perspective within the software team.
  • Work alongside developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate testing throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Identify, document, and monitor bugs and issues.
  • Continuously enhance the QA process by adopting new tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Analyze testing outcomes and provide actionable insights to the development team.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer or in a similar capacity.
  • A strong commitment to quality assurance and delivering high-caliber products.
  • Thorough understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Expertise in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Jest).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS and/or Azure.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and communication abilities, along with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
