Job Summary

This position is located in the Parkinson's Disease Research Education and Clinical Center (PADRECC) of the Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Neurology Service.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Officer will provide administrative support for the PADRECC, including preparing data and reports, interpreting administrative policies, and developing or implementing local policies.

The incumbent will also perform administrative management requirements, apply new policies, maintain administrative systems, and prepare administrative paperwork.

Additionally, the Administrative Officer will assist in disseminating information and improving communication throughout the organization.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-07.

Examples of specialized experience include coordinating and monitoring administrative services, knowledge of Human Resources Management regulations, and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques.

The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, timekeeping, and fund control experience.

Physical Requirements

The work is primarily sedentary and requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Physical exertions include stretching, reaching, and pulling or pushing carts.

Education

A transcript must be submitted with the application if basing qualifications on education.

Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.

Additional Information

Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual based on prior work experience or military service experience.
