Position Summary

The Assistant Manager of Culinary Operations is responsible for overseeing and directing the kitchen staff and food service activities. This role is essential in ensuring that food quality and safety standards are upheld while effectively managing personnel. The Assistant Manager will assist in leading food service functions, which include preparing and serving meals in accordance with company standards. This position fosters a professional environment that promotes a warm, friendly, and team-oriented atmosphere. Compensation will be determined based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance team morale and performance through effective training and mentorship.
  • Address and resolve customer satisfaction issues promptly.
  • Exhibit integrity and knowledge that reflects the company’s culture and values.
  • Manage weekend shifts, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet business demands.
  • Guarantee that food is prepared and served consistently according to established standards, including recipes and portion control.
  • Support the General Manager in enhancing team quality and morale through training and leadership.
  • Control labor costs by managing employee hours during shifts.
  • Encourage improvements in quality and productivity.
  • Utilize resources efficiently to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Maintain high food quality and safety standards.
  • Manage food inventory and costs by minimizing waste.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members.
Qualifications

Requirements
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in food service management.
  • Certification as a Food Protection Manager is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members successfully.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with effective multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
  • Valid driving record and reliable transportation are necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Continuous standing and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
  • Frequent walking is required.
  • Ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or work overhead as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for job performance.
