Hospital Consult Liaison Psychiatrist Per Diem

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our team as a Hospital Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist. This is a hospital-based position that works collaboratively with medical, surgical, emergency, and social work services to address the complex medical and behavioral health needs of patients receiving care at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
ResponsibilitiesThis role involves providing care for patients experiencing delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders, among other conditions. The Consultation-Liaison psychiatry service works closely with patients in the hospital under Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification. The Consultation-Liaison psychiatrists play a crucial role in educating clinical teams about behavioral health care, including multiple residency programs.
The collaborative nature of this position, and partnership with physician and advanced practitioners, medical and surgical trainees, nurses, social work, and other health professionals in a team-based environment is particularly rewarding.
Schedule/CallThe consult psychiatry team works weekdays, taking consults from 9-5:30 pm or 8-4:30 pm, 5 days per week. There are currently no overnight or weekend responsibilities for team members, as this is covered by an outside telepsychiatry service.
Qualifications- Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist, Fellowship training and Board Certification/Eligibility in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
- Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
