Psychiatrist for Hospital Consultation Services

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team in the capacity of Hospital Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist.
This position is centered in a hospital environment, collaborating closely with medical, surgical, emergency, and social work departments to meet the intricate medical and behavioral health requirements of patients.
This role encompasses the treatment of individuals facing challenges such as delirium, mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety, substance use issues, and somatic symptom disorders, among others.
The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service also engages with patients under the Involuntary Treatment Act, ensuring comprehensive care.
As a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in educating clinical teams on behavioral health practices, contributing to various residency programs.
The collaborative essence of this role, alongside physicians, advanced practitioners, medical and surgical trainees, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals in a team-oriented setting, is immensely fulfilling.
Schedule and CallThe consult psychiatry team operates during weekdays, handling consultations from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Currently, there are no overnight or weekend duties for team members, as these responsibilities are managed by an external telepsychiatry service.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Fellowship training and Board Certification/Eligibility in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred
- Capability to secure a medical professional license in the State of Washington
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority necessary for specific practice
