Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consult Liaison Psychiatrist and Section Head to join our team at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in the hospital setting, working collaboratively with medical, surgical, emergency, and social work services.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs, including delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders.
  • Work closely with patients under the Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification.
  • Play a key role in the education of clinical teams about behavioral health care, including multiple residency programs.
  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the Hospital Psychiatry department, working in partnership with the Department of Medicine and Department of Hospital Care leaders.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality care using evidence-based medicine.
Qualifications
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist.
  • Consultation-Liaison Fellowship training and C-L Board Certification preferred.
  • Experience in psychiatry leadership.
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA.
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority.
