Overview

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our team as a Hospital Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist.

Responsibilities

This is a hospital-based position that collaborates with medical, surgical, emergency, and social work services to address the complex medical and behavioral health needs of patients receiving care at Virginia Mason Medical Center. The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service provides care for patients experiencing delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders, among others. The team works closely with patients in the hospital under the Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification. The Consultation-Liaison psychiatrists play a crucial role in educating clinical teams about behavioral health care, including multiple residency programs. The collaborative nature of this position, and partnership with physician and advanced practitioners, medical and surgical trainees, nurses, social work, and other health professionals in a team-based environment is particularly rewarding.

Qualifications
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist, Fellowship training and Board Certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
