Position Overview:

Sovah Martinsville is in search of a PRN Respiratory Therapist Tier IV to assess patients with respiratory conditions and perform diagnostic evaluations. Collaborate with medical professionals to create and execute treatment plans tailored to each patient.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting physiotherapy and other treatments while educating patients on medication usage.
  • Measuring lung function and analyzing blood samples with precision.
  • Administering and evaluating responses to prescribed therapies as per care plans.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient conditions accurately.
  • Reviewing respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes and current research.
  • Responding to emergency situations with appropriate interventions.
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding health conditions and available community resources.
  • Managing respiratory care supplies and ensuring proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Performing routine maintenance and calibration of medical devices.

As a key member of our team, you will deliver diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for patients experiencing acute and chronic pulmonary issues, utilizing advanced procedures and equipment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Administering various therapies, including medical gas and aerosol treatments.
  • Conducting complex respiratory procedures and monitoring mechanical ventilators.
  • Participating in emergency response teams and providing clinical guidance to staff.
  • Engaging in quality assurance programs and contributing to patient evaluations.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care Program with an A.A.S. degree or equivalent.


Skills Required:

Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure situations are essential. Candidates should possess physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform necessary tasks effectively.


Certifications:

Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Must be licensed to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Virginia and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT or RRT).


Experience:

Minimum experience requirements vary by tier, with a preference for candidates with hospital experience.
